João Carvalho, Managing Director

I work with international investors, families, and family offices entering Portuguese real estate and the capital that moves around it. I founded Luznur Capital to do this work the way I believe it should be done: independently, in confidence, and with a clear financial lens. My background combines a financial lens with operational experience — private equity and venture capital, a technology startup, logistics, and events. That mix means I read a transaction the way an investor does and the way an operator does, which matters in cross-border work where neither view alone is sufficient. I studied at Hult International Business School, with academic experience in Boston and New York, and I hold degrees from Instituto Superior de Gestão and Nova Business School. Before that, nine years in a Portuguese military boarding school — where the preference for planning, discipline, and discretion came from. My professional curiosity extends beyond the transaction: into international relations, diplomacy, the defense industry, and the Arab world. That perspective shapes how I work with clients from the GCC, the Americas, Europe, Africa, and other cultures.
